It was a cold and blustery on Fort Desoto’s East Beach on Saturday, March 7, 2015 for the launch of the 2015 Water Tribe Trek to Key Largo. The Water Tribe Everglades Challenge is an unsupported, expedition style adventure race for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The distance is roughly 300 nautical miles depending on your course selection. There is a time limit of 8 days or less. he photo was taken this morning by Kathy Finnerty.
