Tampa Bay Watch, in partnership with Keep Pinellas Beautiful, is recruiting volunteers for a cleanup of the Skyway fishing piers, Fort De Soto Park, Coffee Pot Bayou, Cunningham Key (meeting at Tampa Bay Watch), and Salt Creek. Salt Creek is ready for a cleanup after an extensive invasive plant removal effort by the City of St. Petersburg! We’d greatly appreciate volunteers who don’t mind getting down and dirty underneath a mangrove canopy at this location.
Keep America Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup is the nation’s largest community improvement program taking place annually from March 1 through May 31, involving an estimated 2.8 million volunteers across the country. Tampa Bay Watch sees the Coastal Cleanup as an important way to help clean up human-generated trash in the park as well as marine debris that floats onto the shorelines from Tampa Bay and Gulf of Mexico.
Mastry’s Brewing Co. on St. Pete Beach will offer a post-event St. Patrick’s Day party for cleanup volunteers! The special of 50% off up to three beers is valid from 12 pm to midnight on Saturday, March 17; they are located at 7701 Blind Pass Road, St. Pete Beach, FL 33706. St.Patrick’s also falls during the 3rd weekend when Mastry‘s Brewing Co hosts it’s monthly Extravaganza Market from 12 – 3 pmwith 10-15 rotating vendors. This intimate boutique market is perfect to mingle with local artisans and find handmade art, jewelry, plants, veggies, and more!
