Originally from Napa, Susanne started designing in high school and moved to Florida. Designing at a desk for 13 years, she decided to get her contractor’s license in 2004 and sees being a woman contractor as an advantage, especially for female clients. “I try to get to know the client first and look at the space for functionality and wasted space. Do we need to add storage? Does the client like to cook and do they want top-of-the line appliances within easy reach or just a fancy kitchen for entertaining?” says Susanne. What’s trending in kitchen these days? “The kitchen is the heart of the home. We’re seeing white cabinets, flat islands with countertop bar stools, stainless steel, glass windows on refrigerators and smart kitchens, from sensor lighting to appliances that can turn on with your phone,” says Susanne. As a Master Kitchen and Bath Certified remodeler, Susanne says her success is based on trust and hard work. “The final product is my calling card; when clients say, ‘Wow look at my kitchen’ and are in love with the redesign, I’m happy.”
