Valspar unveiled its latest Be Bright mural today by local artist Ashley Cantero at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. Greeting guests as they pass through the arrivals area, the beach-inspired retro color palate paints a story of local treasures visitors will find in the St. Petersburg-Clearwater area.
“I am thrilled to share the beauty of our community through color and creativity in the Be Bright mural,” said artist Ashley Cantero. “When visitors arrive, I hope the kaleidoscope of color and geometric shapes inspire wonder and generate excitement as they begin their journey.”
Community leaders and special Valspar Championship guests joined together for the mural opening at the St. Pete-Clearwater Airport, which is the first indoor Be Bright mural in the country.
“The St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport is honored to showcase local talent, like Ashley’s, and supports Valspar and the Be Bright initiative, said Michele Routh, Public Relations Director, St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. “This mural will uplift visitors for years to come.”
Ashely Cantero’s mural joins four Be Bright murals across the country in Clearwater, Nashville, Tampa and Ruston, Louisiana. The Be Bright mural initiative allows Valspar to use paint to inspire hope and joy through colorful images of the community.
“Seeing local artists use our paint to spread joy and put smiles on peoples’ faces through these beautiful murals is a small way we can impact the communities where we are,” said Sara Hackney, Senior Marketing Manager, Consumer Brands Group, The Sherwin-Williams Company.
Images of the five Be Bright murals will be on display at the PGA TOUR’S Valspar Championship, which runs from March 16-19 at Innisbrook Golf and Spa Resort’s Copperhead Course in Palm Harbor, Florida. The 2023 Valspar Championship winner has the opportunity to select the next location for a Be Bright mural.
Valspar has been the title sponsor of the Valspar Championship and official marketing partner of the PGA Tour since 2014.
