TripAdvisor announced today that two St. Pete/Clearwater area beaches were named to its annual list of the 25 Best Beaches in America.
St. Pete Beach checked in at No. 2 and Clearwater Beach at No. 8, making St. Pete/Clearwater the only destination in America with two beaches in Top 10 of TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice Awards of Top 25 U.S. Beaches.
The annual list is voted on by members of the world’s largest online travel community. Winners are determined based on the quality and quantity of traveler reviews and averaged ratings gathered over a 12-month period.
St. Pete Beach has a notable history on the list, claiming the top spot in 2012. Clearwater Beach is a perennial favorite, too, for beach rankings as it was named Florida’s Best Beach Town by USA Today in 2013.
TripAdvisor is the world’s largest travel site reaching more than 315 million unique monthly visitors and has more than 200 million reviews operating in 45 countries.
Along with Clearwater Beach, three other area beaches (Caladesi Island State Park, Fort De Soto Park and Pass-A-Grille Beach) are vying for another noteworthy accolade, USA Today’s10Best Readers’ Choice for Florida’s Best Beaches. Fans can vote in that online poll once daily through noon on Monday, March 16.
