Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, and Visit St. Pete/Clearwater wants you to show your love to your destination favorites – Voting Begins NOW for the 2024 Best of St. Pete/Clearwater Awards!
Visit St. Pete/Clearwater today announced that voting for the 2024 Best of St. Pete/Clearwater Awards is now live at VisitStPeteClearwater.com. Residents and visitors can join together and help select the top contender from 35 different categories, including Best Beach, Park, Restaurant, Bar and more, featuring a record 256 nominees this year – the most ever.
Voting runs through 11:59 p.m. on February 29. Voters can submit their selections once per device per day. New categories this year include Best Local Influencer, Best Market, Best Visitor Center, and Best Newcomer to the destination.
Public voting will determine the winner for each category. Winners will be announced online at VisitStPeteClearwater.com and possibly featured in the 2024-25 Gulf to Bay Destination Magazine – the official tourism publication of Pinellas County.
Pinellas County tourism partners teamed up last year to help the county accumulate more than $98 million in hotel bed tax collections, a record amount for the destination. Overall, in fiscal year 2023, St. Pete/Clearwater generated nearly $1.1 billion in local hotel revenue with overall destination accommodations revenue in fiscal year 2023 surpassing $1.6 billion. The hotel bed tax (also known as the Tourist Development Tax, TDT) plays a vital role in our local economy with more than 100,000 jobs in a tourism-related capacity, helping keep property taxes lower throughout the County, and supporting tourism-related projects such as beach restoration and renourishment.
