30th Annual Ride & Run with the Stars

Since 1993, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Ride And Run With The Stars event has given hope and help to children and families in need. The 30th Annual Ride & Run with the Stars is set for Saturday, December 2nd at Fort De Soto Park. Ride And Run With The Stars is the largest law enforcement-organized holiday charity fundraiser in the Tampa Bay Area. Participants enjoy cycling and walking events as well as a certified 5K road race. There will be a visit from Santa Claus plus food and fun for the whole family. The Agency members personally deliver the packages of food, clothing, and children’s toys to victims of crimes and disadvantaged families. Vintage St. Pete Vol 3 Book Release & Signing

Join the St. Petersburg Museum of History this Friday, October 27th 6pm for a Special Edition of Happy Hour with the Historian! Author and journalist Bill DeYoung will unveil Vintage St. Pete & Pinellas, Vol. 3. Like its two predecessors, this large-format book is a historical who’s-who and what’s-what — written in a breezy, entertaining style and lavishly illustrated with archival photographs, memorabilia, and press clippings. Along with stories of St. Pete’s Festival of States, Little Theatre and El Cap, this new volume moves outside the boundaries of the Sunshine City to include stories of the Kapok Tree Inn, Gulfport Casino, Tarpon Springs sponge docks, and more!

Safety Awareness For Everyone.  Visitors to our beaches expect Gulf Boulevard to be a lazy beach road rather than a state thoroughfare. Four to five lanes of traffic moving at 35 miles/hour has meant injury and even death to more visitors than anyone likes to see.
