Deb Carson Book Talk Next Wednesday at SPB Library
HURRY! HURRY STEP RIGHT UP! Next Wednesday, October 20th 3-4pm, local author and Paradise News contributor Deb Carson will talk about her new book, Becoming FLO, A Mostly True Story, at the St. Pete Beach Public Library. Becoming FLO, A Mostly True Story is the inspiring, real-life story of one of Ringling’s most famous clowns. Albert White was a sixteen-year-old Orthodox Jewish boy in 1920 when he fled from his abusive, homophobic Baltimore home, joined the circus, found fame, and her true self as Flo, a celebrated performer who appeared in movies, on stage and who, until 40 years after her death, was known to her birth family, including Carson, only as Uncle Albert. Books will be available for $25 cash or check only at this reading. Bring your mask! Click here to learn more.
