Message from Protect St. Pete Beach Advocacy Group

Protect St. Pete Beach says “The Time Is Now, St. Pete residents, to make your voice heard about beach resort development. Have you seen Protect St. Pete Beach’s petition? https://www.protectstpetebeach.com/petition Check out resident rationale and requests for the city commissioners. Mark your calendar: the first hearing in which decision-makers will discuss application #23053 and the Sirata developers cramming new buildings alongside an older hotel is our Planning Board meeting on Monday, November 13th at 4pm in City Hall. The Planning Board needs to hear testimony from residents about our city’s residential character and quality of life during public comment to have the competent and substantial evidence necessary to support a legally sound decision that rejects this unreasonable proposal as inconsistent with our Comprehensive Plan’s goals and objectives. If you are unable to attend, email the City Clerk, cityclerk@stpetebeach.org by 12:00 p.m. (noon) November 12th.”

  • St. Pete Beach Launches Pedestrian Safety Campaign: S.A.F.E. Safety Awareness For Everyone.  Visitors to our beaches expect Gulf Boulevard to be a lazy beach road rather than a state thoroughfare. Four to five lanes of traffic moving at 35 miles/hour has meant injury and even death to more visitors than anyone likes to see. Learn more in our April Tidbits at https://www.paradisenewsfl.com/tidbits-april-2023/.
  • Reminder to our residents and visitors. No Dogs On The Beach! If you see something, say something. Contact Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office Non-Emergency Line at 727-582-6200.
