Gulfport Pride Returns for Third Year on June 3

Downtown Gulfport will host its 3rd Annual Gulfport Florida Pride event on June 3, from 10 AM – 8 PM to benefit the award-winning LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport Public Library. The LGBTQ Resource Center is committed to promoting awareness of the diversity of experiences, contributions and needs of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer. City of St. Pete Beach Wants Local Feedback

The City of St. Pete Beach invites the you to provide input on the visioning study for complete streets and multimodal transportation in the Downtown Core area. The current roadway conditions make pedestrians and bicyclists feel unsafe and unprotected from passing cars. The first community meeting was held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at City Hall (155 Corey Ave) in the City Commission Chambers.

Rip currents provide visual cues for you to identify potential hazard zones before getting in the water. One of the best visual identifiers of a rip current is to look out for gaps between the waves. The calmer gap between waves may look safer for you to swim but a small patch of calm water in an otherwise choppy sea is often a rip current. One of these gaps is pictured below—the rip current is in between the two red arrows. St. Pete Beach Launches Pedestrian Safety Campaign: S.A.F.E. Safety Awareness For Everyone. Visitors to our beaches expect Gulf Boulevard to be a lazy beach road rather than a state thoroughfare. Four to five lanes of traffic moving at 35 miles/hour has meant injury and even death to more visitors than anyone likes to see.
