Gulfport Pride 2024 Raises $10,000 for Local Charities

The Gulfport Florida Pride festival surpassed all expectations this year, successfully raising $10,000 for two local nonprofits. The funds will be equally divided between the Sonia Plotnick Women’s Health Fund and the Gulfport Kiwanis Club. The 4th annual festival, which drew a vibrant crowd to downtown Gulfport on June 1, celebrated diversity and promoted equality in a lively and inclusive atmosphere. 29th Annual Great Bay Scallop Search

Join Tampa Bay Watch for their 29th Annual Great Bay Scallop Search on August 24th! They’re calling all snorkelers, boaters, and kayakers to help us monitor the health of the bay scallop population. By tracking these elusive creatures, TBW gains valuable insights into the effectiveness of their conservation efforts & promote environmental stewardship.

  • Last week, Tampa Bay Watch and the City of St. Petersburg took a giant step forward in the Maximo Park Living Shoreline Project. Over three exciting days, 120 passionate volunteers installed 602 oyster reef balls and 17 tons of shell, creating nearly 8,000 square feet of living shoreline. This significant effort aims to boost coastal resilience, protect cultural treasures, and enhance water quality—proving that together, we can make a difference!
