Back to School Sales Tax Holiday
The Florida Department of Revenue is announcing the 2021 Back-to-School Tax Holiday beginning Saturday, July 31 through Monday, August 9, 2021.
No tax is due on the sale or purchase of any article of clothing, wallet, or bag, including handbags, backpacks, fanny packs and diaper bags with a selling price of $60 or less per item. Find details on what is exempt click: https://floridarevenue.com/taxes/tips/Documents/TIP_21A01-08.pdf.
Local Athletes Heat to Tokyo Olympics
Florida Olympians rule. Going to the Tokyo Olympics are four Sarasota local athletes: skateboarder Jake Ilardi, swimmer Emma Weyant, rifle shooter Mary Tucker and rower Clark Dean. Also competing, will be former University of Florida Gator swimmer Caeleb Dressel. Dressel is among the top American athletes and could compete in up to seven events.
