Treasure Island Boat Parade Rescheduled for December 22

Due to the unsettled weather forecast for this weekend, the Treasure Island Holiday Lighted Boat Parade has been rescheduled from this Saturday, December 16 to Friday, December 22. The holiday celebration at Treasure Bay Golf & Tennis will also be moved to Dec. 22 from 5-7:30 p.m. At this festive viewing spot where the boat parade starts, there will be a DJ, a visit by Santa and Mrs. Claus, interactive entertainers, and food/beverage concessions.

The Captain’s Celebration and Cookout will still be on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 6-8 p.m. The registered participants will pick up their boat numbers, 2 meal tickets for a delicious BBQ dinner provided by Just 1 Taste Catering, a raffle ticket for a chance to win the Luck of the Draw prize and enjoy live music by Charlie Morris while playing Soccer Darts, lawn games and more. TIPD’s Marine Patrol will provide parade details and safety tips starting at 7 p.m.

First Night St. Pete Celebrates 30 with Art in the Park Event

First Night St Petersburg is excited to announce its return for the 2023-2024 celebration year, marking the 30th annual New Year’s Eve celebration of arts. This year’s event, themed “Art in the Park,” will be held at North Straub Park from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on December 31, 2023, and is free for all ages, thanks to First Night St. Pete’s sponsors, Hines and the Tampa Bay Rays. Festivities include:

  • Dundu Dole Urban African Ballet: Performing from 5:00-5:30 p.m. and 6:20-6:50 p.m., this First Night favorite and one of Tampa Bay’s premier dance companies will dazzle with high energy and colorful costumes. 
  • Interactive Art Village: Showcasing recycling giants by Art Club of St Pete, a 3D mural immersion by Zulu Painter and other unique art installations.
  • Performances: A range of acts from the Curiositorium LLC, including stilt walkers and aerial artists.Musical acts by Mr. Brad and Shana Banana. 
  • Musical Village: Featuring the Urban Gypsies Drum Circle and a custom-made music wall.
