Boulevard Burgers & Tap House Hosting School Supply Drive

Popular St. Pete Beach burger restaurant is hosting a back to school drive from July 24th – August 7th in support of local elementary school Maximo.  A list of the donated items includes: any backpack for any age/ gender, binders (1″ & 2″),   colored pencils, composition books, crayons (24 ct), erasers, glue (bottle & sticks), highlights, index cards, markers (dry erase & washable), notebook/filler paper, paper (copy, construction & graph), pencils, pencil boxes, pencil sharpeners, pen, pocket folders, rulers, scissors, spiral notebooks.

With 89% of the votes, the design for the South Pasadena’s new dolphin statue has been chosen! Earlier this year the City of South Pasadena “joined the pod” by purchasing a 6 foot dolphin statue as part of Amplify Clearwater’s countywide Dolphin Trail program.   • The St. Petersburg Arts Alliance in partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs is now accepting applications for the Individual Artist Grant Program. The program is designed to support public engagement of individual artists’ work/projects in genres such as Visual/Craft Arts, Dance, Music, Theater, Literature, and more.   • The City of Gulfport Senior Center’s Telephone Reassurance Program is a free service for Gulfport Residents 50 years of age or older. Volunteers provide daily phone calls to registered members and provide comfort, security, and peace of mind to members and families.   • It is illegal in Pinellas County to fertilize lawns during the rainy season (June 1-September 30), and slow-release products are required the rest of the year. Fertilizers containing nitrogen and/or phosphorus cannot be applied to lawns or landscape plants, according to Pinellas County ordinance.   • Rip currents provide visual cues for you to identify potential hazard zones before getting in the water. One of the best visual identifiers of a rip current is to look out for gaps between the waves. The calmer gap between waves may look safer for you to swim but a small patch of calm water in an otherwise choppy sea is often a rip current.
