Gulfport Merchants Chamber Takes Over Block Party

This popular community event focuses on showcasing the diverse offerings of this vibrant city. The Gulfport Boulevard Block Party began in November of 2021, being organized by independant business owners along Gulfport Blvd., drawing crowds of residents and visitors alike with its unique blend of live music, food vendors, and local merchants. The Chamber of Commerce is excited to take the reins of this beloved event and build upon its success by adding new elements and promoting it as a must-attend monthly gathering. Tampa Bay Watch Adds New Monotube at Terra Ceia

Tampa Bay Watch staff and Terra Ceia Preserve State Park volunteers, David and Lynn, installed our latest monotube at the Bishop Harbor Boat Ramp in Manatee County. Fishing line recycling tubes, also known as monotubes, play a critical role in removing discarded fishing line from local ecosystems. Improperly discarded fishing line can be a hazard to wildlife, potentially causing entanglements, accidental hooks, and ingestion.

We manage over 200 monotubes in Pinellas, Pasco, Manatee, and Hillsborough counties in partnership with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission in their statewide Monofilament Recovery and Recycling Program.

Click here to find monotube locations or drop-off bins near you.
