Spooky Fun this October with Tampa Bay Watch

The Discovery Center is busy brewing up a cauldron of Halloween fun for all ages! From candy-filled cruises and haunted history tours to ocean-themed pumpkin painting, there’s something for everyone this spooky season! 

Halloween Candy Cruise
Set sail on a magical quest to lift the curse on Tampa Bay! Join us for a candy-filled adventure with marine science puzzles, spooky surprises, and fun for wizards, witches, and muggles of all ages. Costumes encouraged!

Haunted History Tour
Ready for a ghoulishly good time? Uncover St. Pete’s haunted waterfront aboard our boat tour with eerie tales from the Pier to Lassing Park.

Fall into Restoration with Tampa Bay Watch!

The summer heat is cooling down, and Tampa Bay Watch’s restoration projects are heating up!  Join TBW in October for hands-on restoration work like oyster reef ball construction, living shoreline installations, native plant harvesting, and TBW’s big mono clean-a-thon!  

Oyster Reef Ball Construction

TBW is looking for 20-30 volunteers, 16 years or older, to help build oyster reef balls at their Tampa Bay Watch Marine Education Center. This project involves bending, stooping, and some heavy lifting, so it’s the perfect challenge for CrossFitters and fitness enthusiasts!
DATES : October 1st, 15th, 22nd, & 29th, 9AM – 12PM

Living Shoreline Installation
Grab the family and come help TBW create a living shoreline by  installing oyster shell bars and reef balls at MacDill Air Force Base.  Just be sure to sign up at least a week in advance so they can get security clearance for everyone.

Mono Clean-a-thon
Attention anglers!  Join TBW for sorting and recycling discarded fishing line, removing hooks and debris, and contributing to FWC’s statewide recycling program. Your fishing expertise can help keep the bay cleaner and safer for marine life.
