It’s a bright new day” at the SunTan Art Center, housed in the Historic Don Vista Building that shares the south parking lot of the Don CeSar Resort in St. Pete Beach, according to the organization’s new leader, Bev Jackson.
A Grand Reopening was held late in September to show off significant changes that were made in the building, primarily in the Gift Shop, Boutique and Gallery that is housed at the east end, on the ground floor. Some of our area’s most talented artists, members of the SunTan Arts Organization, have agreed to share the cost of the facility by each paying a share of the rent. They have invested in museum quality display systems that show prize work well, and the result is impressive.
The front of the gallery contains both arts and crafts, including jewelry made with semiprecious stones for any budget. The Art Gallery Signs on the front and back should help people to understand that it is a place to view and purchase art, rather than to get a sun tan.
Their Thanksgiving 100 Artists Show will return to Horan Park at the St. Pete Beach Community Center November 24th- 25th, just in time to kick off the holiday buying season in the upscale community of St Pete Beach.
The 5th Annual Spring Show, Art Splash 2019 dates are February 23rd and 24th, 2019 and will feature an exciting new evening event to kick off the show! Each two-day outdoor event will feature fine art and fine craft as well as some tasty festival fare for your al fresco dining pleasure. This Thanksgiving Weekend, join the fun, bring your out-of-town guests and celebrate the awesome waterfront views while enjoying the laid back shopping atmosphere at the beach. Live music each day will feature a variety of popular local musicians…
Sun Tan Art Center is also looking to add some art booths back to the market group that populates the patio by the Paradise Grille on Thursday – Sunday mornings.
