Help Shape the Future of Pinellas County’s SunRunner Corridor

What do you envision for the new SunRunner Corridor? Forward Pinellas, the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) and the City of St. Petersburg want your help creating a vision for vibrant, safe and accessible destinations along the new SunRunner line in St. Petersburg, South Pasadena, and St. Pete Beach. From now until June 30, 2021, Pinellas County residents can tell us their thoughts with our new interactive map survey. They can add comments, ideas, questions and even pictures.

Through the website and “Interactive Map” you can stay updated and help guide new development and economic opportunities in the SunRunner corridor. Your comments will help develop recommendations on how we can enhance the character of our communities and improve the overall quality of life surrounding the SunRunner line.

“In St. Petersburg, we’re excited to create a vibrant destination for the SunRunner Corridor that benefits everyone, enhances quality of life, helps to power our economy, and promotes safety,” says St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman. “By sharing your ideas, we can build a city of opportunity together where the sun shines on us all.”

“By inviting people to share their vision of what they would like to see along the SunRunner route, we truly make this project community led,” said Pat Gerard, Chair of PSTA’s Board of Directors. “This is what makes that corridor and Pinellas County so great.”

“This project is about more than the SunRunner, it is about the future of an incredibly important corridor in our city. We want to make sure everyone has access to enjoy the SunRunner and that it becomes a catalyst for a more equitable, prosperous, and safe community for generations to come,” said Brandi J. Gabbard, Councilmember District 2, City of St Petersburg.

“I hope that everyone will get involved and share their ideas so we can create a community that represents all residents.”

The SunRunner is a sustainable, bus rapid transit line that will better connect downtown St. Petersburg to St. Pete Beach starting in Summer 2022. Customers will enjoy faster trip times and more frequent service to sights and attractions along the route (1st Ave. N. and 1st Ave. South). By lowering travel time, reducing the need for parking and increasing foot traffic, the SunRunner will also deliver more customers to local businesses and widen the talent pool for employers/job opportunities for employees.
