Become a certified lifeguard. Participants must be 15 years or older and must complete a pre-test in order to continue in the class. The pre-test consists of treading water for 2 minutes using legs only, swimming 300 yards without stopping and swim 20 yards, surface dive and retrieve a 10 pound brick from the bottom, resurface and swim back to the starting point and exit pool. The class will be on March 13-16; April 22, 23, 29 & 30; May 13, 14, 20 & 21. Participates must attend all four days. Classes will meet from 8am-4pm and the cost is $160 St. Pete Beach Residents/ $180 Non-Resident.
