The City of St. Pete Beach is pleased to announce that the St. Pete Beach Library has partnered with Pinellas County SCORE and the Tampa Bay Beaches Chamber of Commerce to bring an array of free educational resources to local entrepreneurs and business owners.
This partnership is designed to encourage small business start-ups and business ownership through education. The Library will be the hub of business start-up collateral and useful information for entrepreneurs. Starting in September, the Library is offering workshops on important business topics including how to identify a good business idea, business basics, creating business and marketing plans, and starting a side hustle. Also starting in September (and continuing through November) will be monthly drop-in, individual mentoring sessions for potential (or new) business owners. Interested individuals should visit the library website at SPBLibrary.com, or call the library at (727) 363-9238 for more information.
St. Pete Beach Mayor Al Johnson lauded the library’s dedication to meeting the needs and interests of the St. Pete Beach community and beyond. He said, “Locally-owned businesses are the backbone of our community. They create jobs and provide a sense of fulfillment. The St. Pete Beach Library recognizes the desires many of our citizens have to work for themselves. And this partnership and the free resources provided through it helps reduce the barrier to entry in business ownership/starting a business.”
Betcinda Kettells, Director of the Library, added “We are thrilled with the partnership between SCORE, the Chamber, and the Library. We want to ensure everyone understands the pathway to business and that they’re free to pursue their dreams regardless of their backgrounds or traditional business knowledge. The workshops, display, and professional mentoring will help those with entrepreneurial dreams succeed for no investment other than their time. We are so proud to be able to play a part in helping to make those dreams a reality everyone can afford.”
