The City of St. Pete Beach will be hosting two fun and informative Earth Day celebrations on April 22nd from 10AM – 2 PM. One at Horan Park, 7701 Boca Ciega Drive in St. Pete Beach and the other at the Pass-a-grille Concession area located at 900 Gulf Way, St. Pete Beach. The mix of activities is family-friendly and admission is free.
The Horan Park Earth Day celebration will feature demonstrations of Makita landscaping tools with staff and City contractors providing information on proper landscaping techniques and water conservation tips. Food will be available for purchase.
There will also be a tree giveaway to homeowners of St Pete Beach. Available trees include: red maple (1 and 3 gallon sizes), beautyberry (3 gallon), sugarberry (3 gallon), loblolly bay (3 gallon), sweetbay magnolia (3 gallon), red mulberry (1 gallon), slash pine (1 gallon), sycamore (1 gallon), bald cypress (1 and 3 gallon sizes), pond cypress (1 gallon), and loquat (1 gallon).
At the Pass-a-grille Concessions area, local environmental organizations Keep Pinellas Beautiful and Sea Turtle Trackers will be on hand to speak about their missions and give out information about their efforts and the environment. Food will be available for purchase at Pass-a-grille Concessions.
