From the biggest of hearts to the smallest of bodies, May Day Racers of all ages, shapes and sizes will take to the trail near Ceridian on May 6, 2017. This is truly a local event run by volunteers with something for everyone including competitive timing, technical shirts, post-race fun, and great medals and prizes all while showcasing our beautiful community.
If you are not up to participating as a runner/walker, the race needs volunteers for a variety of fun assignments. Please register on active.com (May Day Race) or contact race organizers at maydayrace@yahoo.com if you can volunteer. All volunteers will get a race shirt, and be able to participate in post race events.
The popular Kids Dash for Cash will also be back and will feature fun kids’ activities such as make-and-take race bibs, an inflatable, treats and a chance to win cash! Kids who participate in the Kids Dash will receive goody bags, a t-shirt, and plenty of pride. Entry is free with an adult race entry, but all must pre-register to be guaranteed an entry. Dash distances will vary based on age up to a 1-mile run around Ceridian.
Last year, this race contributed $1,000 to 5 schools ($5,000 total) near the Skyway Marina District via the Pinellas Education Foundation as well as giving back to the District to support improvement projects. We hope to continue growing this event and to give even more money back to support our kids and our community this year. This race is possible through wonderful local sponsors; many of them within the Skyway Marina District including Ceridian the title sponsor and host of our race. To register as a race participant or to volunteer, please visit www.active.com or for more information visit the Skyway Marina District Facebook page.
