Enjoy World-Class Breakfasts at Sea Dog Brewing Co.

Sip, sup and play @Sea Dog Brew Pub!

Eat, drink and be merry at Treasure Island’s Sea Dog Brewing Co. on Gulf Blvd. where you can watch panoramic sunrises and sunsets. With cheers to five years, this waterfront dining restaurant and full-liquor bar is Gulf Beaches’ favorite local and visitor rendezvous.

For a good time, friends and visitors meet up at Sea Dog’s party central between the north and south Gulf Beaches. You can come by car, trolley or boat and tie up to 11 boat slips in front of the building and across the street.  Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, a robust happy hour and sports on big-screen TVs, there are family games and pool tables to amuse kids of all ages (as well as a children’s menu). The downstairs patio is pet-friendly for dogs on leashes; a wall of fame showcases Sea DOGS we love.

With ample parking on both sides of the street, plan to spend a few hours eating, drinking, and making new friends.  Sea Dog’s team of chefs craft dishes with fresh, local-caught seafood and farm to table produce and feature a daily special such as surf & turf. At breakfast, best of show is the homemade sausage gravy and biscuits from a 110-year-old West Virginia recipe, shrimp and grits and eggs done to perfection.

Share the Buffalo Calamari, smoked chicken wings and Irish meatballs or start with the Maine lobster bisque or Walt’s ahi tuna poke. The burgers and handhelds, especially the blackened fish tacos and blackened grouper sandwich, are stellar. Seafood fra diavolo, pesto seafood linguine and lobster mac & cheese delight seafood lovers. Pub favorites include the beer-braised ribs, fish ‘n’chips, hand cut steaks and their famous Maine-inspired super lobster roll and dishes – an homage to their Shipyard Brewing roots.  I love the Drunken Burger made with bourbon bacon jam and their signature beer Export Ale onions, Sea Dog beer mustard and white cheddar.  Vegetarians eat well, from the salads to the Islander Veggie Wrap.

The hand-crafted desserts are scrumptious, especially the key lime pie, seven-layer carrot cake and the holiday beers including Snickerdoodle Ale and Midnight Snack beer rimmed with Oreo cookies and white chocolate. (In February, a new menu debuts with old favorites and new dishes organized by From The: Ocean, Cantina, Deli, Butcher Shop, Brick Oven, Italy.)

There are three waterfront bars (two upstairs, one downstairs), dozens of specialty cocktails and rotating taps that change monthly.

Sea Dog brews their award-winning beers on-site as well as serving Shipyard’s best beers (Monkey Fist IPA, Citrus Sunfish Wheat Ale) and local craft beers such as 3 Daughters. With seasonal updates, it’s best to start with a Beer Flight.

We suggest the award-winning Sea Dog Bluepaw Ale made with blueberry wheat, refreshing Anchors Away Lager, Blood Orange Belgian Wheat, and Treasure Island Amber. Toast with a Sunburn Pain Killer, Cucumber Cooler, Lighthouse Lemonade or Watermelon Garden Margarita, a few of the many crafted cocktails.

Sea Dog Brewing Co. in Treasure Island has nine other locations in Maine and New Hampshire. Clearwater is home to Sea Dog Food Trucks, available for events and private party. Since 2002, Sea Dog has partnered with Shipyard Brewing Co., a family-owned brewery, hard seltzer and soft drink manufacturer in Portland, Maine, founded in 1994. Shipyard is the largest brewer in Maine (owning the Shipyard, Sea Dog Brewing Co., and Casco Bay Brewing Co. banners; they also produce Ice Pik Vodka (available @Leukens).
