The Sunshine City takes the spotlight in the new made-for-TV movie, Roommate Regret, which premieres on April 11 at 8/7c on the Lifetime Movie Network. The suspenseful story was filmed almost entirely in the dynamic Downtown St. Petersburg area.
“It’s rewarding to work on projects that highlight our amazing community and capture the essence of what makes this city such a sought-after destination for visitors and filmmakers looking for that special and unique element that will bring the storyline to life,” said Lisa Dozois, St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commissioner.
Roommate Regret, originally titled Bad Tenant, is one of many productions that are capitalizing on the plethora of diverse filming locations available in the St. Pete/Clearwater area. These types of high-caliber productions drive true economic impact to the area in which they are filmed. With a 33-person crew, the production resulted in booking more than 200 hotel rooms in the destination, with additional direct spending in the destination.
Viewers will see locations in St. Petersburg and Clearwater including the Main Event Boxing Gym, Johnny’s Restaurant and Pizza, Parkshore Grill, Three Birds Tavern, Clear Track Studios, Green Bench Brewing, St. Petersburg Police Department, and Straub Park.
The film boasts a talented cast, including rising social media influencer Maryana Dvorska in one of her first feature film roles, AEW professional wrestler Laura Dennis (known as “The Bunny”), Veronica Long, Josh Cole, Lee Perkins, and film writer Sam Benjamin (Peaky Blinders, The Pay Day).
