Maybe you’ve heard of Reiki but don’t quite know what it is or whether it’s right for you. Some physicians suggest Reiki as a complementary therapy to existing medical treatments. Reiki is an ancient healing tradition and Japanese for Universal Life Energy. This energy is omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient. Eastern healing traditions, like Reiki, focus on energy in many different modalities. Acupuncture unblocks your energy meridians. Tai Chi or Qigong helps realign energy and keep it flowing. Yin and Yang are also energy concepts, in a constant state of balancing and affected by emotion, stress, diet and health.
Many believe that Universal Life Energy is pure, unconditional love. Energy should flow freely, like water. If it does not it can become stagnant. Our energy can become blocked or stagnant as well. This leads to imbalance in mind, body and spirit.
How can Reiki massage help you realign your energies? A reiki massage is a no-touch treatment where the practitioner is guided by intuition to rebalance one’s energy and focus on areas, physically and otherwise, that need healing.
As a young adult I was first introduced to Reiki when I took my mom, who had MS, to a friend who did traditional massage and Reiki. Constant tremors caused Mom’s left arm and shoulder to shake. During her Reiki treatment, her shaking stopped.
I started researching Reiki and in 1999, became a Reiki instructor and helped many people with various health issues. It may promote natural self-healing, stimulate your body’s immune system, relieve pain and tension, reduce stress, foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery. It also may support the well-being of people receiving medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis. (Reiki treatment should not be used as a substitute for the consultation of a physician or a psychotherapist.)
Are you open to a body, mind and spiritual energetic experience? You have nothing to lose but possibly much to gain. One of my favorite quotes is by Voltaire: “Once is an experiment. Twice is a habit.”
I invite you to learn about Reiki and experience it. When you’re ready, contact me 727-534-1406 or email info@simplethings.world for a session at The Centre in SPB or the Peaceful Wellness Warriors in downtown St. Pete. Until then, be well and be balanced.
