Preserve the ‘Burg is excited that Movies in the Park returns after a one year COVID related hiatus. Started in 2010 to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the city’s historic downtown waterfront parks, PTB’s Movies in the Park has grown ever more popular!
On May 6 & May 20 the fun returns with live local music at 7 pm followed by the movie on the big outdoor screen as it gets dark. It all takes place on the beautiful downtown waterfront in North Straub Park (400 Bayshore Dr., NE).
To make Movies in the Park a COVID safe event capacity will be limited and advanced ticketing will be required. While traditionally, Movies in the Park has been a free event (all production costs are paid for by PTB), because of COVID impacts, it will be necessary to charge for May Movie in the Park tickets. Tickets can be purchased by members and those purchasing the specially priced new member & movie ticket item between April 15 & April 20. Ticketing for the general public will be available starting April 21. Click here to purchase your ticket(s).
To ensure a safe event, mask wearing will be required. You will still get to choose your choice spot and be able to sit back and enjoy the beautiful evening while listening to live, local music and having a picnic with your own or purchased food & drink (including beer & wine). Some of the best of the ‘Burg’s local food vendors will be on-site and we encourage you to support them by making a purchase (or two). Bring a blanket or low seat, a limited number of folding chairs will be available. A copy of the event’s COVID safety plan is available here.
A big thank you to the Movies in the Park sponsors. Stop in their business and tell them thanks for helping make movies in the Park happen!
