PIER DENTAL in St. Pete Beach

Our hope for our dental future has returned to St Pete Beach, after recently meeting Brittany Pierpont, Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). Dr. Pierpont assumed the practice of Dr. Asta Grinis on Blind Pass Road across from St. John’s Church. The office will continue to provide exceptional patient care under the new name of Pier Dental, a reference to her name and proximity to the beaches.

Today, much of the world has changed to a corporate style dentistry, where maximizing profits has taken the place of dentists who take the time to make patient care their top priority. The motivation to provide excellent care to clients who may be with you for the rest of your career doesn’t exist in corporate chains. Dr. Pierpont is the same kind of highly educated, trained, and experienced professional I imagine top dentists were when they established their practices a career ago, before corporate dentistry became so prevalent.

While the married mother of two currently resides in the area, she is no newcomer to Florida’s sunset capital. Dr. Pierpont grew up in St. Petersburg and spent many summer days in St. Pete Beach and Pass-a-Grille. She was honored to play Division I collegiate volleyball at Boston College, while simultaneously completing her rigorous pre-med bachelor’s degree. She then attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, considered one of our nation’s finest. Dr. Pierpont went a step further and continued her advanced education and experience during her residency at East Carolina University. She then returned to the sunshine state nearly 10 years ago and has worked with the most experienced dentists in the Tampa Bay region.

Learning how to best treat patients started far before formal training for Dr. Pierpont, as she learned from her father who has been a respected cardiologist in St. Petersburg for 40 years. It was he who taught her to apply the golden rule, to treat each patient as she would want to be treated. She describes herself as an “ethical dentist’ “and says she has asked her office manager to plan more time for her with each patient so she can provide genuine, quality care and treat each of her patients with the respect they deserve.

“Corporate dentistry is more about the bottom line than patient care. That is why I am thrilled to have established a professional dental option for patients which focuses on their treatment. There are often options in dental care with solutions that will look better, last longer, and be more comfortable. I believe it is important to discuss all the available options, so the patient is more confident that the selected treatment plan is the best option for them,” Dr. Pierpont told Paradise NEWS.
