TAMPA BAY

The Southwest Florida Water Management District (District) will close all campgrounds throughout its 16-county region (including Pinellas County) to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. Beginning Wednesday, March 18, at 1 p.m., all District campgrounds and campsites will be closed for 30 days. Recreational day use activities will still be allowed at this time.

ZooTampa will be temporarily closed starting Monday, March 16th through Sunday, March 29th.

Clearwater Marina Aquarium will be closed effective Monday, March 16th. They have tentatively plan to re-open to the public on March 27th at 10:00 a.m.

The Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority (PSTA) is cancelling public meetings including committee meetings and board meetings. This cancellation is effective March 16th through April 14h, 2020. 

ST. PETERSBURG

Morean Arts Center, Morean Center for Clay, Morean Glass Studio and the Chihuly Collection 

Duncan McClellan Gallery will close the physical gallery and hot shop for at least the next week starting today, March 18th 2020, HOWEVER, they will be available for take out and delivery. 

The James Museum is temporarily closed due to coronavirus effective Monday, March 16th.

The United Soccer League including your Tampa Bay Rowdies have suspended play for a minimum of 30 days effective immediately.

Quilt Local 2020, the 19th annual Quilt and Fiber Arts Show next weekend (March 20-21) at the Coliseum is cancelled.

Preserve the ‘Burg will cancel all their programs through March. Registered guests are entitled to a full refund for their event and tour registrations, and that can be requested by emailing info@preservetheburg.org. Cancelled or Postponed Programs:

Major League Baseball has announced that Opening Day will be delayed by at least two weeks due to coronavirus and all Spring Training games have been cancelled.

The 34th Annual Eckerd College Search & Rescue Marine Yard Sale set for Saturday, March 14th has been postponed, but does not yet have a future date. Info

The Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg has decided to cancel all programs and events through March 31. If possible, events will be rescheduled to a later date. 

The St. Petersburg Museum of History will close temporarily to the public effective immediately. We will reopen Wednesday, April 1.

Several galleries will remain open for tomorrow’s St. Petersburg Second Saturday Art Walk. See list below for who will be open and who will be closed.

Effective immediately, St Petersburg Opera has suspended all performances, classes and events until March 30. The following events will be affected:

  • March 14 Second Saturday Artwalk (Cancelled)
  • March 15 Tampa Bay Symphony Young Artist Recital (Postponed)

The Mirella Cimato Art Gallery will be closed until March 30. Our Box Office will be open to phone calls and emails only, weekdays 1-6 p.m.

American Stage is temporarily postponing all performances and classes. 

The Museum of Fine Arts St. Petersburg will temporarily close to the public, starting Saturday, March 14th until further notice. With the temporary closure, the 23rd Annual Art in Bloom and its related events, Wearing Flower After Hours and Art in Bloom Luncheon, scheduled for March 26-30, have been canceled. 

The Florida Orchestra has canceled or postponed all concerts through April 5th.  These concerts are canceled or postponed:

  • March 20-22: Bach’s St. John Passion Masterworks concert. Canceled
  • March 25 & 26: Bright Side of Beethoven Coffee concert. Canceled
  • March 27-29: Broadway Pops concert. Canceled
  • March 28: Peter and the Wolf Storytime Series. Postponed
  • March 29: String Trio Woodson Chamber Series. Postponed
  • April 3-5:
  • Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons Masterworks concert. Canceled
  • Week of community chamber concerts at hospitals, Tampa International Airport, ZooTampa and R.E. Olds Park. Canceled

The Dalí Museum will temporarily close to the public through March 31, 2020, at which time they will reassess. All Museum programs and events during this time will be canceled or postponed. During this temporary closure, The Dali invites you to stay surreal by accessing the Museum digitally via The Dalí Museum AppDreams of Dalí in Virtual Reality, our online-only exhibits, our 360 tour and our permanent collection online.

The Florida Holocaust Museum will temporarily close to the public, beginning on Monday, March 16th tentatively through Sunday, March 29th. Additionally, all of #TheFHM‘s upcoming programs scheduled through April 4th have been postponed. 

FreeFall Theater has suspended all performances.

GULFPORT

Gulfport Public Library is closed as of Thursday, March 19, 2020.

The Great American Cleanup at the Clam Bayou Nature Park and the Nautical Flea Market at the Municipal Marina scheduled for this Saturday, March 14, 2020 are cancelled. Participation in the City Wide Yard Sale is up to the discretion of the individual home owners.

The City of Gulfport in cooperation with the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation has postponed this Saturday’s March 14th Health and Wellness Expo at the Historic Gulfport Casino until Saturday, June 6th. Info

The Abstract Art for Autism and Special Abilities Art Opening and Fundraiser at the Gulfport Art Center has been postponed until further notice.

The Gulfport Public Library has cancelled all library sponsored events. Community partners, and most community groups have also cancelled use of the meeting room, including; AARP Tax Help. The Circle of Friends of the Gulfport Library have suspended the acceptance of donated materials until further notice. The Gulfport Public Library will remain open for the time being.

MADEIRA BEACH

The City of Madeira Beach is postponing the following events at the Madeira Beach Recreation Center:

  • Kite Day
  • Gulfbeaches Rotary Waterfront Festival
  • The Water Lantern Festival
  • Mad Beach Burgerfest
  • Spring Break Camp

In addition to postponing these events, the Madeira Beach Recreation Center will be closed March 16-31. All events scheduled during this time are cancelled. In April, the City of Madeira Beach will re-evaluate the current status of the Coronavirus and make appropriate adjustments.

INDIAN SHORES

The Town of Indian Shores St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Saturday, March 14th is cancelled.

Access into the Indian Shores Town Hall building will be limited only to authorized Town Personnel and for those with official Town business until further notice.

Effective immediately, the following activities/services held at Indian Shores Town Hall are canceled/closed until Sunday, April 5, until further notice:

  • Condominium association meetings
  • Civic Organization meetings (ISPOA and ISWC)
  • Library Read & Feeds
  • Town Library including the Public Computer Room
  • Recreational classes
  • Special events involving Town Hall facility rentals
  • Sunday Morning Market

The Town Council will readdress the situation at a Special Town Council meeting scheduled on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 5:00 p.m.

Indian Shores Town Council agreed to postpone the Great American Cleanup that is currently scheduled for March 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

ST. PETE BEACH

In accordance with the State of Emergency in Pinellas County, the City of St. Pete Beach has cancelled the following community events:

  • St. Patrick’s Day Block Party- Corey Avenue-March 15th
  • Corey Avenue Sunday Market- March 22nd-March 29th
  • Music in the Afternoon – March 29th 
  • PAG Church Event – March 29th
  • Underwater Egg Hunt and Chalk It Up – April 11th
  • Sunrise Service – April 12th
  • Beach Goes Pop – April 17th and 18th

Additional events are subject to cancellation or rescheduling.  

At this time all programs, fitness classes, childcare activities and events located at the St. Pete Beach Community Center, Aquatic Center & Public Library have been suspended until further notice. Please note primary elections will still take place at the St. Pete Beach Community Center on Tuesday March 17.

The St. Pete Beach Public Library is closed until further notice. 

At this time, Children’s Spring Camp offered by the Rec Center will still be held from March 16th through March 20th, 2020.  The Spring Camp field trips have been cancelled, and we’ve added on-site activities to provide entertainment for the children. 

The St. Pete Beach Crab & Music Festival scheduled for March 27-29, 2020 has been cancelled. 

SOUTH PASADENA

The South Pasadena City Commission has canceled the upcoming Artspring and Block Party that were scheduled for March 27-29th.

EVENT VENUES

Ruth Eckerd Hall announced yesterday that effective Sunday, March 15, Ruth Eckerd Hall is postponing all performances, all education activities and events through Thursday, April 2. This includes performances and events at Ruth Eckerd Hall, The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, The Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts, The Murray Theatre and off-site events presented by Ruth Eckerd Hall on the Road.
