The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Eckerd College announces the release of its 2017 Winter Term catalog of nearly 200 non-credit classes and activities designed for people age 50-plus and open to all adult learners across Pinellas County.
OLLI classes include the arts and theatre, film, history, biography, culture and spirituality, current events, fitness and health, nature and technology. Special activities include day trips across Tampa Bay, special interest groups and even international excursions.
Winter term’s classes offered January – April are:

“1962: a 55th Retrospective,”
“The Birth of Rock ‘N Roll,”
“Introduction to Buddhism,”
“Climate Change: Is it Too Late for Florida?”
“The Art of Frida Kahlo,”
“Hitchcock Film Trio,”
“Current Issues in Constitutional Law,”
“A Virtual Tour of Paris,”
“Post-Soviet Russia,”
“Tampa Bay’s First People” and
“Inside the St. Petersburg Grand Prix.”
OLLI winter activities include live simulcasts of the New York Metropolitan Opera, the theatre productions of “Tintypes,” “Hello, Dolly!” and “The Grapes of Wrath” at the Francis Wilson Theater in Clearwater and four presentations of the British National Theatre from London. Participants can also tour the PIE St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport and explore Tarpon Springs plus join Dine-Around restaurant visits across Pinellas County.
Most classes & activity fees vary $10-$45 /OLLI members. Many are single session classes. Annual OLLI membership is $49 pp and provides class discounts and other community benefits. Each year, OLLI provides more than 350 affordable and intellectually stimulating non-credit classes, interest groups, local and international trips and special events at multiple locations for its 1,600 members in Pinellas County.
