OLLI Eckerd College – November Classes

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Eckerd College announces new classes and activities during November.

Designed for people age 50-plus and open to all adult learners across Pinellas County, OLLI non-credit classes include topics in biography, culture and travel,  day trips, film and television, Florida studies, history, theatre and visual arts.

Among the 2017 OLLI November classes offered at Eckerd College are

  • “Fashion Icon Elsa Schiaparelli,”
  • “Savoring France:  The Province of Burgundy,”  
  • “The Plane that Changed the World,”
  • “Florida Films: Clips from Films Made in or About Florida,”   
  • “Will Rogers – America’s Favorite Son,”
  • “Vera Rubin: Cosmologist Extraordinaire”
  • and “Edinburgh: Athens of the North.”

In addition, live satellite performance of the Metropolitan Opera of “The Exterminating Angel” Saturday, Nov. 18, 12:55 pm.  Reservations required.

Most classes and activity fees vary from $10-$45 for OLLI members.  Many are single session classes.

Annual OLLI membership is $49 per person and provides class discounts and other community benefits. It increases to $59 on January 1, 2018. Non-OLLI members welcomed to participate in all classes and activities.

OLLI, a non-profit educational organization, is based at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg with a supporting location in Palm Harbor.  

Each year OLLI provides more than 350 affordable & intellectually stimulating classes, interest groups, local and international trips and special events at multiple locations to expand and enrich the lives of its 1,600 members in Pinellas County.
