The Morean Arts Center has been delivering on a mission of connecting the community to art for over 100 years. This commitment to accessibility and inclusivity is a core philosophy at the Morean, which is pleased to announce a unique program available nowhere else, aimed specifically at differently-abled artists with limited or severely limited mobility or manual dexterity.
Launching on Saturday, October 31st at 2 pm with a free virtual Halloween-themed hangout, the No Limits Digital Drawing class will be an online arts program designed by Michael Lyman with the assistance of the Morean Education team. Michael Lyman, who has a Bachelor of Arts in graphic design and is finishing his first graphic novel, has been teaching drawing and illustration for over ten years in three states and has been an art instructor at the Morean since 2007. The weekly classes will begin on Wednesday, November 4, with students having access to online hangouts with a different theme each week, devoted to socializing and encouraging fellow students. Additionally, each student receives a once-a-month private lesson.
This innovative and unique program is specifically tailored to those with limited or severely limited mobility. Students learn to use a free online digital drawing program along with a touch-sensitive tablet to express themselves creatively. Students who want to evaluate the program before enrolling can attend a monthly hangout for FREE.
