A ribbon-cutting and opening ceremony will be held on Thursday, December 10th at the new Gulfport Welcome Center (3101 Beach Boulevard South, Suite 1). A holiday open house will also be held during the evening from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with ribbon cutting to take place at 5:30. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be offered.
The new Gulfport Welcome Center will offer information and resources about Gulfport and nearby areas to visitors as well as Gulfport-themed souvenirs and other merchandise for sale. The Center will also house the combined offices of the Gulfport Merchants Association (GMA) and the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce. The two non-profit community organizations both provide services to visitors and local businesses. The Chamber’s focus is on the entire City of Gulfport and nearby areas, while the mission of the GMA is focused on the Gulfport Waterfront District. Officials from the Chamber, the GMA and City of Gulfport will be on hand during the event.
