Bob Gualtieri is the 14th sheriff of Pinellas County in its 104 year history. Sheriff Gualtieri began his career with the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office approximately 35 years ago. He was appointed as Sheriff in 2011, elected and re-elected in 2012 and 2016, respectively.
He has received numerous honors for the outstanding innovative programs he has established. Among the awards are those involving the youth of our community such as the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, the Pinellas Sheriff’s Police Athleti League, Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranch as well as being a supporter of MOWW YLC Youth Leadership Program.
The Sheriff’s office has also provided color guards in support of MOWW activities such as the Massing of the Colors. One of his most significant contributions to their Law and Order program, is his endorsement of deputies for their chapter’s recognition and their presentation of programs of interest.
For these reasons, this past summer, at the National Conference of The Military Order of the World Wars, his name was submitted for the National Exceptional Service Award by MOWW Clearwater Chapter 136. This award is made after submissions by chapters nationwide for consideration of this prestigious award Sheriff Gualtieri was selected as the recipient of the MOWW National Exceptional Service Award, and was presented with the honor at the MOWW Law Day Program held May 1, 2018, at the Belleair Country Cub, One Country Club Lane, Belleair, FL. It is the leadership of Sherrif Bob Gualtieri who is dedicated to following the Rule of Law supporting the U.S. and Florida Constitutions that made him the choice of National for the award.
