PUBLISHERS MESSAGE

Real estate has been very good to Paradise NEWS for many years. We are proud to showcase an amazing $8.5 million Pass-a-Grille home for sale on our cover this month, along with Melinda Pletcher, the Smith & Associates realtor that, for a decade, balanced her role as city commissioner and historian for Pass-a-Grille with the rising demand for a rare commodity. Pass-a-Grille is a historic, eclectic community that was a city of its own until it merged with 3 other cities to form St. Petersburg Beach in 1957.

The Gulf Beaches Historical Museum is located in the original church on Tenth Avenue. A one-hour visit on Friday-Saturday 10am-4pm or Sunday 1-4pm can take you back 50-120 years. Read all about 1108 Pass-a-Grille Way in our centerspread, on pages 32-33.

Thanks to all who reached out about Sammy, our late, beloved rescued feline, the subject of last month’s publisher’s message. He deserved the eulogy after surviving Hurricane Katrina and 17 years as our guard cat, co-conspirator, and constant companion. We will remember him and all who died in service to our country with Memorial Day festivities at month’s end.
