Preserve the ‘Burg (formerly St. Petersburg Preservation) announces the May Movies in the Park line up!Bring family and friends to enjoy FREE film classics and live local music each Thursday evening in May on St. Petersburg’s beautiful downtown waterfront. The movies and music events are produced by Preserve the ‘Burg. The fun begins with music at 7 pm and movies at dark in in North Straub Park (400 Bayshore Dr., NE), on Beach Drive and between 4th and 5th Avenues NE.
Movies are free; pay-what-you-can donations appreciated. May marks the 9th year for Movies in the Park, an event many refer to as the best “little” event in the waterfront parks which started in 2010 during the Waterfront Parks Centennial celebration.
Movie goers are welcome to come early to listen to the music and to enjoy the beautiful evening with a picnic, either by purchasing food and drink from some of the St. Petersburg’s best vendors or by bringing their own food. Bringing a blanket or low seat is recommended. There will be a limited number of folding chairs available. We welcome family, friends and even well-behaved pets! A great way to get to Movies in the Park is on bicycle and secure, on-site bicycle valet parking will be available, thanks to Coast Bike Share.
