Maudie Gurak, volunteer extraordinaire and forty-four (44) year resident of the City of Treasure Island turned 100 years young on Friday, April 24, 2015. On April 27, 1999, Maudie Gurak was recognized by the City of Treasure Island Commission as “One of the most dedicated volunteers donating hundreds of hours assisting with City-sponsored events and civic organization functions”.
Additionally, Maudie was recognized by The Point of Light Committee as an Outstanding Citizen of Pinellas County for service to her neighbors and community.
The City of Treasure Island had a parade and reception on April 24, to honor Maudie Gurak’s landmark birthday. The parade began at Treasure Bay Golf and Tennis Center and ended at the Treasure Island Community Center. The reception followed the parade at the Treasure Island Community Center. Wishing Maudie Gurak many more years of health, happiness and service to her community.
