Mastry’s Brewing Co. Releases Brut-Style IPA, Total Zero

The usual impression of IPA has historically been fairly alcoholic, bitter and full bodied. This also style featuring a large amount of hops with aromatics and flavors that range from pine resin, citrus, herbs, to more modern varietals with tropical fruits, berries, stone fruits, coconut and hard candies.

The modern IPA esues the bitterness of the previous iteration of the most popular craft style and focuses on modern hops, adjuncts and whole fruit additions.

Total Zero is a modern interpretation of the IPA. Designed with the crisp, refreshing qualities normally associated with lagers or pilsners. This “Brut-style” IPA features a very light body, with a greater level of carbonation to emulate the spritzy zest of sparkling wine, minimal bitterness is coupled with a generous dry hop addition of Mosaic and Calypso hops. These varietals contribute to a tangerine citrus, lemon-lime and red/black berry nose and flavor.  5.8% ABV keeps this refresher a repeat drinker well suited for the beach. Total Zero Brut IPA is on tap now in the tasting room.
