Joanne Braccio, the owner and founder of St. Petersburg cleaning service Maid to Order FL, is passionate about serving her community, particularly those in need. “I lost my sister Lois and brother Robert to cancer and I know all too well the physical and emotional struggles that a family faces with this disease,” said Braccio.
Since 2009, Maid to Order FL, Inc. has been partnering with Cleaning for a Reason, an international non-profit organization that provides free house cleaning to cancer patients in the United States and Canada. The company is committed to supporting two homes each month for two consecutive months free of charge for cancer patients residing in St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, and Indian Rocks Beach.
One of their patients, Deb Debo-Mochizuki, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Cancer treatment left me with too little energy for home cleaning chores. Maid to Order FL did dishes, vacuuming, dusting, and laundry. They were wonderful.” Maid to Order FL, Inc. has been offering a range of cleaning services since 1975, including residential and commercial cleaning, rental and seasonal cleaning, and professional organizing services.
The company adheres to a standard 52-point checklist, which includes following CDC guidelines. Customers can schedule services on a weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or one-time basis.
Maid to Order FL is committed to a green cleaning program that prioritizes the safety and health of its customers and employees. The company uses only cleaning solutions certified to be free from carcinogens, toxins, neurotoxins, and other ingredients that can cause health problems. In addition, Maid to Order FL makes its own cleaning solutions in-house with essential oils, ensuring maximum healthful benefits from green cleaning.
As part of their commitment to giving back, Maid to Order FL partners with the non-profit Cleaning for a Reason and has also formed their own non-profit, Love Thy Neighbor FL, to serve more families in need. In addition to raising money locally to supplement what they do for Cleaning For A Reason, Love Thy Neighbor FL also operates a food pantry at 913 72nd St. N in a space donated by Pesky Pelican free of charge. “We are always looking for food donations, toiletries, and monetary help. We are open six days a week and are currently looking for people to volunteer, including folks to deliver meals to neighbors who can’t come to the pantry,” Braccio told Paradise NEWS.
