Ladies are invited to the Progressive® Insurance Tampa Boat Show™ for a day of fishing fun and networking on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2019. Conducted by Ladies, Let’s Go Fishing, the “Learn to Fish” day features instruction on fishing strategy, techniques and conservation, as well as hands-on skill practice with guides. No equipment or experience is necessary to attend the “No Yelling School of Fishing.” Optional fishing is available on Sunday, Sept. 8 at additional charge.
The event will be held at the Tampa Convention Center and harbor on Saturday, Sept. 7 from noon to 6 p.m., preceded by a Freedom Boat Club Early Bird Pontoon Boat Cruise from 10 –11:15 a.m. Capacities are limited for the classes, cruise and optional Sunday fishing.
Speakers and instructors include Captains Leiza Fitzgerald, Pamela Wirth, Lori Deaton, Alice Trautman, Stacy Horak, Betty Bauman, Stewart Ames and others.
Registration fee of $49 early entry, $59 week of event includes show admission, inshore/bay fishing instruction, hands-on practice for knot-tying & casting practice plus the Freedom Boat Club earlybird cruise and networking hour with food & drinks. Combined with a swag bag and a voucher for a future Freedom Boat Club Sunset Boat Cruise for recipient and friends, the extras are worth more than $100.
An optional Charter Fishing Trip will be offered on Sunday, September 8, to practice new skills on the water, targeting redfish, trout, snapper and more. Charter boats hold 2 to 4 people with fishing licenses and gear provided. Sept. 8 is optional fishing only with no classes offered.
