Kudos & Good Deeds in Pinellas County March 2019

The Tampa Bay Beaches and Treasure Island / Madeira Beach Chambers of Commerce held annual meetings in January to announce new boards and recognize some outstanding members.

Paradise NEWS was one of the awardees, recognized for 25 years of stellar service to the beaches.

The not-for-profit RCS (pictured above) was named for Biggest Community Impact. The RCS mission is to help the most vulnerable in the community. Their 2,500 volunteers distribute 4 million pounds of food through food banks to feed 60,000 individuals/year. They also assist with 3,800 domestic abuse calls/year in their mission to fight hunger, homelessness, domestic violence and basic needs. RCS just appointed Kirk Ray Smith (pictured at left with the award) as their first black CEO and President. The Treasure Island / Madeira Beach Chamber met at the Bilmar this year. John ‘JJ’ Buggle of Admiral Farragut Academy was named the Ambassador of the Year. Beverly Dinyof Diny’s Diamonds was named Shop Member of the Year. A complete list of awardees is shown to the right. Joe Dise was recognized for his outstanding service as Chairman. Congratulations to the local chambers for another great year, and thanks for the recognition in front of our peers and neighbors. It is indeed a good feeling to be recognized for our labors of love.
