The latest project of the Treasure Island Historical Society is the refurbishing of our Buccaneer Pirate “Bucky,” located in the park at the Treasure Island Community Center. Board members Johnna Patterson and Ginger Goepper led the effort with help from DJ Sheppard Painting Contractor and the Public Works Dept. of the City of Treasure Island. Scrubbing with soap, water and finally pressure washing, our Pirate will soon look “handsome” again. The final coat of clear gloss varnish will be applied in early March.
