DRINK TO YOUR HEALTH
Since our seasonal residents and the spring breakers have left, our favorite food & beverage establishments are more readily available. Is it time you thought about taking better care of your health? In this article I point out some options for a healthier life.
I want you to know I enjoy drinking: craft beer, wine and alcohol all have a place in my heart. My uncle and a cousin were “liquor salesmen” who taught me (after my dad died) to find what works for me. “Drink it straight, neat or with ice. Stay away from mixers and sugars and always drink a glass of water after each drink.” My journey began certain single malts, bourbons and tequilas, a full-bodied red wine. I am sure you all know drinking to excess is bad. It’s harmful to our livers and our overall well-being.
Since opening TheCentre@SPB, I have been enlightened about more alternatives for well-being and balance. With meditation, yoga and micro-dosing medicinal cannabis, some clients have reduced and/or eliminated their need for medications for blood pressure, anxiety, and depression. We have also learned that different approaches work better for different folks. We have been at 7525 Blind Pass Road, next to Lenny’s SPB bike and surf shop for two and a half years. People are still popping by for the first time, some who live nearby. All are amazed at our offerings. Massage, individual and group classes for a variety of yoga and meditation techniques, belly dancing, vibrational sound relaxation and more.
What works for you? We have a selection of top-quality, thoroughly tested, CBD products: drops, capsules, gummies and more. Some say, “it takes just a drop on a toothpick to help me get to sleep.” We even have a top-quality line of anti-anxiety products for your pets. Some feel better when a little THC is included.
Triverde health makes it as easy as possible for our clients to complete the state required doctor’s visit and application for certification. Call 727-322-4588 or visit www.thecentrespb.com for more info or to schedule.
The Centre also has a series of educational courses on how to integrate Cannabis into your life. Our Wellness Café is open daily 7am-2pm, accessible at the window on Blind Pass Road or inside after 9am. It is great-tasting, high-quality coffee, which has its own list of medicinal benefits, available with most imaginable creamer and sweetener options plus such healthy additions or coffee substitutes, as the powerful antioxidant, Turmeric.
Kava-Kava (aka Yaqona) is a beverage popular in many Polynesian Island cultures for the relaxing effect it has on the brain. Formal Yaqona ceremonies often accompany important functions, usually involving a ritual presentation of the bundled roots as a gift, and the drinking of the Kava. Kratom is a leaf collected from a tree in the coffee family that has pain-relieving effects like opioid drugs. There are many purported medicinal uses for this substance, including serving as a natural alternative to treat depression, anxiety, addiction, diabetes, chronic pain and fatigue. Many individuals experience an increase in energy, elevations of mood, and relief from pain when using kratom. One of our longest-time members said thanks for offering kratom. His nephew was able to break his narcotics habit drinking kratom infused beverages.
There is a national trend away from alcohol and towards drinks made from such botanical sources. The Centre will soon be joining the trend, offering a botanical bar, drinks infused with CBD, Kava Kava, and Kratom, all within federal laws. Many are finding these beverages can assist in alcohol or opioid reduction and elimination who want a social buzz without the effects of alcohol, and some products are marketed as low-calorie, natural, and “hangover-free.”
