Beginning Monday, April 29, 2019, the dog park at the Madeira Beach municipal complex located at 300 Municipal Drive will be closed for renovations. The improvement project includes the removal of existing sod, excavating the area, grading to direct drainage away from the adjoining athletic field and planting of new sod.
The project is expected to take approximately 6 – 10 weeks. Staff from the Madeira Beach Parks and Recreation Departments are exploring ways to open a temporary dog park nearby while the existing park is being renovated. “Our dog park is used every day so we are actively looking at setting up a temporary safe and secure play area within walking distance of the existing dog park,” said Madeira Beach Public Information Officer Curt Preisser.
