St. Petersburg’s largest open-air event, Halloween on Central, presented by Grow Financial Federal Credit Union and in partnership with the Grand Central District, EDGE District, the City of St. Pete, and LocalShops1 is returning this spooky season on Sunday, October 27, from noon to 5 pm.
Attendees can stroll and roll along nearly two miles of the city on Central Avenue from 31st Street to Dr. MLK Jr. (9th) Street and experience the heart of the Sunshine City. Trick-or-Treaters and festival goers will see the city from a unique perspective allowing them to rediscover their favorite local businesses and interact with the community in a fun, healthy way – without worrying about car traffic. Admission is free and well-behaved pets on leashes are welcomed.
“This event has quickly become a St. Pete staple. With over 100,000 attendees the last few years, it’s the perfect all-community gathering,” said Roger Curlin, Executive Director of the EDGE Business District Association. “Now in its fourth year, this event allows kids to be kids and adults to feel like kids again. We know visitors and residents from all over the county will enjoy St. Pete’s biggest Halloween celebration.”
Activities along the festival route include strolling performers, entertainment, music, family fun and games, exploring Central Avenue’s wonderful shops, restaurants, and pubs, food truck hubs, trick-or-treating, candy stops, costume contests, wiener dog races and dog costume contests, children’s activities and more vendors.
LocalShops1 is organizing the Voodoo Vendor Village, along with SIK Promotions. The vendor village runs along Central Avenue from 16th to 20th streets and will feature about 150 local makers, food trucks and other small businesses; plus a DJ, spooky entertainment, candy stations and more. Attendees are encouraged to come in costume.
