Gulfport Florida Pride Returns on June 1st

The vibrant community of Gulfport is gearing up for its fourth annual Gulfport Florida Pride event on June 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This FREE, family-friendly festival celebrates diversity and promotes equality while raising funds for two vital local organizations: the Sonia Plotnick Women’s Health Fund (SPHF) and the Gulfport Kiwanis Club.  The 4th Annual Gulfport Florida Pride will take place in Downtown Gulfport at 5501 28th Ave. S. in Gulfport.

The festival promises a lively and inclusive atmosphere with diverse activities including:

  • Gulfport Gecko Amalgamated Marching Band and Walking Parade: Join the colorful procession at 2:00 PM.
  • Vendor Marketplace: Discover unique art, pride gear, local services, and resources.
  • Live Performances: Two stages will keep you entertained throughout the day.
  • Additional Activities: Enjoy live music, food trucks, fundraisers, and more!

The event will raise funds while shining a light on community needs.  The Sonia Plotnick Women’s Health Fund (SPHF) promotes the wellness of women in the Tampa Bay Area by providing financial assistance for healthcare costs, supporting lesbian students pursuing healthcare careers, and offering health-related continuing education opportunities. The Gulfport Kiwanis Club focuses on improving the lives of children locally, ensuring every child has the support they need to thrive.  Gulfport Florida Pride has proudly donated over $15,000 to charitable organizations since 2021.

“Pride festivals offer a crucial space for community, visibility, and advocacy,” says Gulfport City Councilman Paul Ray, an event partner. “Especially during times of hardship, they remind us of our strength and unity.”

Admission and parking are complimentary during Gulfport special events.  Visit the Gulfport Florida Pride website at https://gulfportprideflorida.com/ for more information, volunteer opportunities, and sponsorship details.

Gulfport Pride is organized by SIK Promotions, in collaboration with LocalShops1 and Gulfport Councilman Paul Ray.
