We were browsing Fish Hippie and Natural Comfort on Corey Ave. for an inspired outfit for working out in the new year. Fashion as motivation was our goal, and our shabby band tees and cotton shorts were going out with 2023’s misplaced desires and faded resolutions. New year, new you! And style to match our #1 resolution to walk, swim, bike or take a fitness class.
In 2024, let’s embrace yoga pants, body-hugging tank tops, and functional-yet-fashionable sports in earthy monochromatic palettes, black and white, and retro cuts. While we love the rainbow, neutrals stand the test of time, so invest in pops of color and a unitard that works with blazer and heels for work, or sneakers on the weekends. Just in time for the summer Paris Olympics are fashion trends like the luxury jumpsuit and track star style, plus winter whites and florals. Also, trending are more athleisure pieces made from eco-friendly materials like organic cotton, recycled polyester, and even innovative fabrics made from ocean plastic. Leggings are still in, but worn in new ways, paired with sporty crop tops and athletic jackets for a stylish, active look. On the fashion-forward front, leggings are layered under shorts or miniskirts for a bold, urban appeal.
For ski bunnies, yellow takes the spotlight as the color trend injecting warmth and energy into the wintry landscape. Whether it’s a vibrant jacket, cheerful gloves, or a sunny beanie, this hue makes a bold statement against the white backdrop. Timeless and elegant, plaid and tartan patterns add a touch of sophistication to slope attire.
For those looking for chic cruise or resort wear, 2024 showcases chain belts, slung low at the waist, either against bare skin or over dresses, skirts, or pants at Blumarine, Versace, Chanel, Dsquared2, Diesel, Rosie Assoulin, Gucci, St. Agni and even MM6 Maison MargielaCruisewear.
Authenticity is the clarion cry for 2024 fashionistas, and it’s all about individuality, as people look to get more creative with how they dress, finding their signature scent and defining their core aesthetic. If you are one of those, then don’t miss this cool January event. Join us at The Radix Collection Fashion Show 1/21 @2-4pm.
