St. Pete Beach Library Celebrates St. Pete Beach History and Special Memorial

May 11, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Free

The St. Pete Beach Library is pleased to invite the public to an afternoon of history to be capped off with the unveiling of a memorial to a beloved former library administrator. The free event will be held at 4:00 PM on May 11th , 2022.

Elizabeth Britt will share stories about the rich and interesting history of St. Pete Beach. From native tribes to tourists, fish to kitsch, military to municipality, attendees will discover that there’s a lot more to discover in SPB than our award winning sugar sand beaches. Ms. Britt will also tell the story of how President Clinton influenced the city’s name.

After the presentation, there will be a special unveiling by the Friends of the St. Pete Beach Public Library honoring a former library administrator. Refreshments will be provided.

St. Pete Beach Library’s Director Betcinda Kettells said, “We hope people will join us for this special afternoon program. While we all enjoy the beauty of our area, few know the captivating history that has made St. Pete Beach the place it is today. This is a chance to hear some of our most intriguing stories and honor a favorite daughter of St. Pete Beach.

The event is free and open to the public.
