Happy Hour with the Historian

February 11, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Florida During World War II Presented by Lt. Col. Robert Kirchubel

Join us Thursday, February 11th as the Museum of History welcomes Lt. Col. Robert Kirchubel, USA (Ret.) for an evening of wine, words, and wisdom.
Known for its warm weather, white sandy beaches and swaying palm trees, Florida long represented rest and relaxation. At least until 1942. After America’s entry into World War II, the U.S. government transformed our tropical oasis into the largest military training ground in the United States. Hotels were converted into military barracks, airports filled with bombers and fighter planes and those beautiful Florida sandy shores were invaded with assault after assault of amphibious military trainees. Lt. Col. Kirchubel’s presentation will explore how the Sunshine State was converted from a resort paradise to a key player in the U.S. home front during World War II.
Happy Hour with the Historian is presented by Green, Henwood & Hough Wealth Management Group of RBC Wealth Management.

Program begins at 6:30pm.

SPMOH Members receive free access!

This edition of Happy Hour with the Historian will be streamed live online via Zoom.
