APRIL 20 The Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center’s annual fundraiser Earth Night party will be held at Tierra Verde’s Tampa Bay Watch headquarters. This year’s event “Grown in the Gulf,” is a celebration of local food, beverages, and gustatory creativity. Guests can sample ocean-grown products prepared by local culinary stars and the dishes are paired with drinks to complement the flavors and spirit. APRIL 22 This popular free family-friendly event organized by Learning Gate Community School and the Museum of Science and Industry is dedicated to the principles of Sustainability, Ecology, Equity, and Economy, the EcoFest event promises live music, demonstrations, informational booths, and green living products. Local vendors, food trucks, organic farms and gardens with fresh produce, alternative health practitioners, renewable energy specialists, and a variety of green businesses will be in attendance.
At The Movement Sanctuary in downtown St. Pete from 2-6pm, shop and support small business at the Earth Day Vendor Market. Scents From The Crypt welcomes local vendors offering handmade glass art, canvas art, candle and bath products, handmade jewelry, thrift/vintage clothing and goods, crochet art, floral arts, massages, makeup and face painting, amazing community opportunities and much more! Vegan food, sweets and non-alcoholic beverages will also be available.
On 4/29-30, The 37th Green Thumb Festival at Walter Fuller Park (7891 26th Ave. N, St. Pete) is St. Petersburg’s annual Arbor Day Celebration showcasing 120 garden, plant and flower vendors and exhibitors. There’s an arborist to consult, a butterfly tent and children’s crafts, free plant, mulch and pine seedling giveaways, educational programs, exhibit tents for environmental resources and groups, a garden railroad display, garden wagon decorating and parade and tree sale plus food trucks, entertainment and more.
