The Sparkling Tale of Natural Gemstones

In a world overflowing with synthetic imitations, natural gemstones shine like stars in the night sky, embodying authenticity, beauty, and timeless value. These dazzling treasures are more than just pretty baubles; they’re rare gems that tell stories, connect us to nature, and add a sprinkle of magic to our lives.

Natural gemstones are like snowflakes – no two are alike! Imagine wearing a piece of jewelry that is as unique as your fingerprint! Each natural gemstone is a one-of-a-kind treasure, ensuring that your sparkle stands out from the crowd.

For centuries, people have believed that gemstones possess mystical powers. From healing vibes to energetic boosts, these stones are thought to connect us with the universe in magical ways.

Meet artisans like Candace Carson, the creative genius behind Effigies Art Works. She transforms these extraordinary natural gemstones into stunning jewelry that tells a story. Each piece is a unique expression of both the stone’s inherent beauty and the wearer’s personality – like wearing a masterpiece!

As Candace puts it, “Wearing natural gemstones is a testament to authenticity and individuality.” When you adorn yourself with these gems, you’re not just making a fashion statement; you’re embracing Earth’s artistry and celebrating your unique style.

Choosing natural gemstones means investing in something far greater than mere adornment. It’s about connecting with Earth’s history, supporting ethical sourcing practices, and creating a legacy that can be passed down through generations.

Each piece is named and can be worn as a brooch or a necklace. A 26” sterling silver chain is included.

Crafting Divine Art at the Beach

Glenn Miller had a calling. After migrating to Sarasota from West Virginia with his wife of 44 years, Loralee, Glenn saw the sacredness of Siesta Key Beach. He heard of the yearly international sand sculpture contest, and realized there was no spiritual component to the artists’ work in the sand. So, he decided to change that and began practicing each week in the sand at Siesta Key, designing many forms of spiritual designs incorporating Jesus’s name. Beachgoers flocked to watch him carve and offered their opinions as to which was the best biblical sculpture. He was ready for the sand sculpture contest scheduled in mid-November.

An amateur artist, Miller’s various artwork is designed to be thought provoking. For instance, in addition to traditional biblical designs, he likes to design brain teasers such as a rectangular sculpture that spells out Jesus. “Makes for great conversation by observers at the beach.” At first sight, it looks like a bunch of squares with Hebrew writing, but when you really study it, it spells out JESUS.”

Miller recognizes that many beachgoers appreciate the religious messages he carves in the sand. One day, a large family was sitting in the sand, dressed in non-beach attire and all looked profoundly sad. One of the members of the family came over to him where he was carving JESUS into the sand. The family member said they had just lost their 20-year-old son and had come to the beach after the funeral to reflect. Miller said they were comforted by the sandcastle he carved and that was enough motivation to continue “God’s Work” in the sand.

Miller’s work can be seen each weekend at Siesta Key Beach (main entrance) down near the blue lifeguard stand.
